about

Manufacturing Taste was founded to address a structural gap in property development.

By the time a scheme is on site, most of the decisions that determine how it will perform in the market have already been made. They were made before anyone asked who the building was for, or what would make a tenant choose it over a competing scheme.  Branding arrives later to describe what is already there, and agents inherit a positioning that they had no part in setting.

Industry benchmarks get mistaken for market positioning. BCO compliance, WELL ratings are standard not differentiators.  Meeting these standards tells an occupier the building is acceptable - it does not answer the questions of why a tenant would choose it at all.

Manufacturing Taste closes that gap.

We come on board as architects at the positioning stage and work alongside branding teams and agents, ours or yours, to define how the asset should perform and shape the architecture around it.   Done this way, an asset does not chase the market. It shapes it.

  • Founder / Director

With over 18 years of professional experience, Fakhry is the founder of Manufacturing Taste.

He views architecture as part of a wider design ecosystem spanning branding, fashion, media and consumer culture - industries in which creative direction plays an active role in shaping what markets desire, adopt and ultimately value.

For Fakhry, architecture should operate with the same strategic intentionality.

Born in Beirut, Fakhry was educated in Lebanon, the United Kingdom and the United States but has been practising in London throughout his career. He holds an MSc in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York City, an MA in Histories and Theories from the Architectural Association and a Bachelor of Architecture from the American University of Beirut.
